ESUT SUG ELECTION: A NEW DAWN IN THE GREAT CITADEL OF LEARNING
The just concluded Students Union Government election in Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Esut, which took place on 13th day of May, 2022 is a pure indication that Student Unionism in Esut is gradually being restored, as Students massively voted their choice leadership in all levels, starting from the SUG, Faculties, and Departments. This is not unconnected with the resolves of the New Vice Chancellor, Prof Aloysius Michael Okolie to restore the glory of the noble Institute of learning.
The election which was hitch free, produced Comr. Udeh Michael Nwachukwunyere (Mickey) who defeated his closest rival, Comr Awere Christian Ikenna, to cling to the post of SUG President. Among other elected SUG executives are: the Vice President; Comr. Chinedu Precious Chinasa (Party), the Secretary General; Comr. Eneh Uchenna Vincent (Singapore), the Public Relation Officer; Comr Donatus Okolieuwa (Dona4All), the Assistant Secretary General; Comr. Chukwuajah David (Dream), the Treasurer; Comr Ezugwu Akubilo Gerald (Fabrizio), Financial Secretary; Comr. Okereke Kingsley (Castro), Director of Health and Sports; Comr. Nnadi Chidera Godfrey (Jarule), Director of Sports; Comr. Anwunobi Charles (Tino Fresh), Librarian; Comr. Ibe-Ugwu Chizoba Scholarstical (Clare).
The in-house election of the parliamentarians subsequently took place today, producing Comr Tyva Lubem Bernard (Agaboy) and Comr. Emea Emmanuel (Celebrity Course Rep) as the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker respectively. While Comr Nwankwo Damian Nnamdi (Dimo) is the SUG Chief Judge.
Special thanks to the workaholic and ever dogged Dean of Students Affairs, Prof Jude Emmanuel Udenta, who deprived himself of comforts to ensure the success of the process.
The efforts of the Enugu state chapter of NANS Chairman; Comr. Emmanuel Obi, and his NAUS counterpart; Comr Agbo Christian Emeka, are equally appreciated.
The security officers, the ICT personnel and the Students themselves are all appreciated.
